MathPaster ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the MathPaster Chrome Extension.

2. Data Collection & Usage

For Standard Usage: MathPaster does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The core extension operates entirely locally within your browser, and we run no servers of our own.

For MathPaster Pro (optional paid upgrade): There are no accounts and no sign-up. Purchases and license keys are handled by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy:

• Payment Processing: Checkout happens entirely on Lemon Squeezy's site under their privacy policy. We never see or store your payment details.
• License Activation: When you enter a license key in the extension, that key (and nothing else) is sent to Lemon Squeezy's licensing API to verify the purchase, and is re-checked periodically. The key is stored in your browser's extension storage, which your browser may sync across your own devices.
• No Tracking of Content: Regardless of Pro status, we never see your behavior or the equations you type. All mathematical processing happens locally on your device, and the licensing check transmits only the license key itself.

3. Permissions Explained

MathPaster requests specific browser permissions solely to function as a productivity tool:

• activeTab and Host Permissions: These are required to inject the WYSIWYG editor into the webpage you are currently viewing and to insert your generated LaTeX math into text input fields.

4. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Since we do not collect contact information, any updates will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
