1. Introduction

MathPaster ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the MathPaster website and Chrome Extension.

2. Data Collection & Usage

For Standard Usage: MathPaster does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The core extension operates entirely locally within your browser, and we run no servers of our own.

For Reddit advertising measurement on the website: When a landing-page URL indicates that you arrived from a Reddit advertisement, the website asks whether you consent to limited advertising measurement. If you accept, it loads the Reddit Pixel and may send page visits, demo interactions, Chrome Web Store button clicks, checkout starts, and a confirmed purchase with its currency, value, and anonymous order identifier. Reddit click and campaign parameters are retained in your browser for up to 28 days and may be attached to a Lemon Squeezy checkout for attribution. Campaign tags may also be added to the Chrome Web Store link so Google can provide aggregate listing and confirmed-install analytics under its own privacy policy. If you decline, the Pixel is not loaded and attribution is not retained or added to those links. The website does not provide Reddit with your name, email address, equations, license key, or extension activity, and a Chrome Web Store click is not represented to Reddit as a confirmed installation. Reddit may process browser, device, and advertising identifiers under its own privacy policy. This measurement code is not included in the MathPaster extension.

For MathPaster Pro (optional paid upgrade): There are no accounts and no sign-up. Purchases and license keys are handled by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy:

• Payment Processing: Checkout is provided by Lemon Squeezy, including when it appears as an overlay on this website, under their privacy policy. We never see or store your payment details.
• License Activation: When you enter a license key in the extension, that key (and nothing else) is sent to Lemon Squeezy's licensing API to verify the purchase, and is re-checked periodically. The key is stored in your browser's extension storage, which your browser may sync across your own devices.
• No Tracking of Content: Regardless of Pro status, we never see your behavior or the equations you type. All mathematical processing happens locally on your device, and the licensing check transmits only the license key itself.

3. Permissions Explained

MathPaster requests specific browser permissions solely to function as a productivity tool:

• activeTab and Host Permissions: These are required to inject the WYSIWYG editor into the webpage you are currently viewing and to insert your generated LaTeX math into text input fields.

4. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Since we do not collect contact information, any updates will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
